ISU Steadfast Announces Leadership Transition: Doug Penley Named President, Steve Pearson Assumes President Emeritus Role

San Francisco, CA – July 28, 2025 – ISU Steadfast is pleased to announce a leadership transition that reflects the organization’s continued commitment to growth, innovation, and the strength of its partnerships. Effective July 1, 2025, Doug Penley has been promoted to President of ISU Steadfast. Concurrently, Steve Pearson has transitioned to the role of President Emeritus, continuing to contribute to the organization on a part-time basis.
Doug Penley brings over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a career spanning both carrier and agency leadership roles. Prior to his promotion, Doug served as Executive Vice President of Strategic Insurance Partnerships at ISU Steadfast, where he led initiatives in carrier relations, playing a pivotal role in strengthening relationships with key carriers and wholesalers as well as optimizing insurance solutions for members. His background includes roles as an agency owner, a leader in risk placement and carrier relations for a top 75 U.S. insurance agency, and various leadership positions at a national carrier in sales, distribution, and claims.

Steve Pearson, who has served ISU Steadfast with distinction, will continue to provide guidance and support in his new capacity as President Emeritus. As of July 1, Steve has transitioned to part-time.
